I'm in the studio with two lovely ladies; Fiona Kirk, nutritionist and best selling diet author, and Astrid Longhurst, Body Confidence Coach. Both beauties have teamed up with the Vitality Show, which kicks off on the 22nd March - and we've got some shocking statistics relating to BMI awareness and weight issues. So the question of the day: How can we find our happy weight? Well, BMI is a good place to start. BMI, 'body mass index', is a guide used by the NHS to determine whether a person is...

We're talking with the lovely Dr. Simon Duffy and Adrian Miller in studio today about the recently introduced Welfare Reform Bill. A coalition of major charities have spoken out against the Government’s controversial welfare reforms, cleared in parliament last week, saying they will lead to an increase in abuse of disabled people and leave those with learning difficulties significantly worse off. Campaigners say ‘the new policy, along with several other government policies, disguises extreme...

Its official - the count down to the deadline to get your savings into your tax free ISA is officially upon us! It's ISA season and we're in the studio with The Share Centre giving advice to listeners who want to make the most out of their tax free limit this time around. New research has shown that the majority of people are investing in cash ISAs as they don't know about the alternatives - but consumers could be seeing much greater returns if they took a bit of a risk and put their money into...

St Patrick, St George and St Valentine - whether it's in the name of Ireland, England or love, we Brits like nothing more than celebrating the traditions and heritage of our own patron saints, or even those of other nations. And on that note... I'm in the studio celebrating St Piran's Day and all things Cornish with celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw! 15 million Brits visit Cornwall every year (that beats Spain!)... and for anyone there right now, Cornish pride will be at its highest and there will...

I'm in the studio today with the lovely Jon Marsh from Docmail discussing the Royal Mail price hike that is just around the corner. With the significant rise in stamp prices, its not just consumers that's going to be affected - but small businesses, local councils and lets not forget the NHS. The NHS actually saved themselves £177,000 in just two months by using a different service to post out their flu jab letters - which is a staggering figure. So when the price hike happens, lets wise up...

Watch out boys... girls across the country are preparing to get down on one knee and pop the question in line with leap year tradition. ...Or are they?? Well, new research has shown that over half of us would have doubts about tying the knot to a smoker... & a whopping 75% of us want our partners to be smoke-free, regardless of wedding bells. This has prompted the British Heart Foundation to PROPOSE (note pun) that smokers 'take the leap' in line with No Smoking Day, which falls on the...

I'm in the studio today with the lovely Clare Nasir and Bernard Nolan dispelling the myths about acupuncture. The vast majority of people are put off acupuncture because of the needles, and many people think that the needles used in acupuncture are as big as a hypodermic needle, or even as big as a sewing needle! This really isn't the case, as the needles used are actually as thin as a human hair. Acupuncture is suitable for everyone - pregnant women, children, elderly, your dog (no joke!)...

2012 has been labelled by the Government as the "Year of Enterprise' and with a 25% increase in people searching for the term start-up on Google it seems that Britain is really embracing the entrepreneurial spirit! However, with access to credit hard to come by and research showing almost 60% of people have been put off because they are worried about money, where can people turn for advise? Intuit the small business champion, are offering budding entrepreneurs and small businesses the...

The winter vomiting bug is on the increase - it's risen by a staggering 40% in the past two decades and this year alone over 5% of the entire UK population will suffer from it. The main symptom of Norovirus is the sudden onset of nausea and vomiting and there is no cure with sufferers advised to let it run its course. However, it's advised to rehydrate and keep fluid levels topped up in particular with the young and elderly who are more at risk. Using rehydration drinks like Dioralyte are the...

Who doesn't want cheaper energy and electricity bills?! Which? has revealed that UK consumers are overpaying £4 billion to energy suppliers every year by not switching to cheaper tariffs. In conjunction with online campaigner 38 Degrees, Which? have decided to do something about this and have launched a new way for people to buy their energy. The Big Switch campaign is inviting all energy providers to bid against each other to offer their cheapest possible price in a reverse auction. Any UK...
