  News Hooks:

The Bank of England has forecast a record 15% rise in domestic gas bills and a 10% hike in electricity in the second half of 2011 – triggered by political unrest in the Middle East and natural disasters in Japan. With inflation set to hit 5% and the Government unexpectedly raising a supplementary tax charge on North Sea oil and gas producers, British consumers could be in for a hard winter.

The VAT rise earlier this year to 20% has seen the cost of living increase and is predicted to hit families hard, costing between £150 and £561 over the course of one year. Installing Solar Panels is a way to beat the VAT increase and could see the average family saving up to £250 a year in energy bills.

Solar Panels can cut your carbon footprint by 1 tonnes of CO2 per year – around 25 tonnes over its lifetime – as well as producing approximately 40% of the electricity a household uses in a year. Solar Panels can make consumers up to £1500 a year, index linked and tax free.
