This National Wine Month has revealed some interesting facts about Britain’s wine knowledge, with 3 in 10 people claiming to be wine experts before making an embarrassing error in front of friends, family or colleagues. With so many wines to choose from and the British weather beginning to heat up, picking the perfect bottle can often be a daunting experience.

91% of Brits admit they enjoy eating outside, and with summer fast approaching, picnics are likely to ensue. 38% believe that rosé is an ideal drink to take on a picnic and 26% claim sparkling wine is their favourite wine to take whilst dining alfresco.

With supermarkets increasing their range of lower alcohol wines, in response to growing demand, there’s now a wide range of lighter style wines to choose from. As the evenings get longer, reach for a fruitier wine and enjoy.
