New research has revealed just how important holidays are for people in the UK. To ensure that they will be able to go away in 2010, 26% of people said they would give up dining out, 22% would give up home improvements and 52% would give up luxury goods.

Travel enthusiasts are planning to travel even more this year. 55% of people are planning to travel more in 2010 than last year which is an encouraging sign that Britain has emerged from recession especially as 66% are planning to take 1-2 holidays and 31% planning more than 3 trips in 2010.

Half of the UK would only book a holiday if it was a special deal, and with the majority only spending between £300 and £400 on a break Brits are still looking at keeping costs down this year when travelling.
