From times per week, choice of contraception and even favourite positions: today the sex lives of our country’s students have been laid bare. With three quarters having had sex with up to 5 people since starting University and 6% having sex every day of the week, the libido of the UK’s student population looks like it’s higher than ever!

Experimentation appears to be on the up, with almost half (42%) admitting to having a one night stand, 28% having sex in public and half (49%) sending or receiving sexual pictures or videos to or from a partner. But despite taking the lead from celebrities in the headlines, we aren’t completely without our inhibitions - as worries for performance (57%) and appearance (48%) came up tops. Perhaps more concerning was the fact that getting pregnant ranked much lower down in students priorities (25%) - despite two thirds admitting to having unprotected sex and half of females having taken the morning after pill.

Revelations about sexual health were also revealed; over a third (35%) of students have never been tested for STI’s, yet one in ten people have actually contracted one (8%). So is there enough information and advice available for the student population –where one in ten say sex is the most important thing in their University life, and one in three are missing out on a lecture to have sex instead!?

. Introduction:

Today student’s sex lives have been laid bare, with the release of a brand new League table that reveals which Universities are at it the most - and which course you’re likely to be studying for if you’re willing to miss lectures for a quickie.

But are students today actually as promiscuous as they are portrayed to be, and are they being careful enough when it comes to their sexual health?
