It’s so easy during our hectic days to forget to plan for the coming season – and for the past two years Brits have been left out in the cold through not planning for the changeable weather. Many of us don’t even think of changing our clothing wardrobe until it’s too cold to wear what we find handy in our closets and drawers. There’s no two ways about it – Britain looks set to be in line for one of the hardest winters in many years.

Many local councils have spent thousands of pounds stocking up on grit ahead of the cold spell, and have upped their salt supplies after government recommendations. This year the UK has stock piled over 2.5 million tonnes of grit – over a million more tonnes than this time last year.

With a cold spell on the horizon, we have been looking at preparing for winter.

Preparation is key, and making this investment now will ensure your family does not find it hard to afford this investment when the Christmas spending really has kicked in.
