Throughout the past year there has been a significant growth in the number of young professionals who use online dating sites. Online networking has become a major trend of the 21st Century which has consequently influenced busy, young, urban professionals to search for love online. It has become ever more important as even when they are on the move, nearly half of daters are using mobile technology to organise their love lives. What's more, this year is set to see a further increase as ‘relationships’ are at the top of most daters’ resolution lists. Not even the ice and snow will put daters off as online dating traffic increased by over half during the snow days.
In the last year alone, an online dating site has seen a 37% increase in the amount of young professionals signing up. Furthermore, the recent snowfall has increased online dating traffic by 55% as employees find the freedom of working from home.
Over a third of young professionals join these sites with the primary reason to go on lots of dates and have fun. Online dating has become so important that 46% of site members regularly use the mobile internet to check their profile and network whilst on the go.
This New Year, the top resolution for online daters aged 20-30 is based on relationships with over a third admitting to this, in comparison to the more traditional resolutions of health and fitness, work and money.
