As the weather gets warmer many of us will be turning our minds to picnics, barbeques and evening dinners alfresco with friends. Finding the right wine to go with the right meal is hard enough, but with so many people concerned with the environment, keeping the carbon footprint down may be a challenge.
Andrew Peace is one of Australia's leading family owned and independent wineries, and the first Australian brand to hit the shelves not only with a bottle, but also with an environmentally friendly FuturPak, a container that is light in weight, easily portable, and 100% recyclable.
FuturPak is a new liquid container technology that makes transport of products such as wine much more efficient and environmentally sound as it is significantly lighter than glass. It would take 25 trucks to hold the same number of empty glass bottles as it does for one truck of empty Futurpaks.
So how did this eco-friendly wine come about and how can we enjoy it on this side of the world?
