The average Brit will spend more than £350,000 in their lifetime on international holidays. Consequently, it is no surprise that one in four people are looking to spend less on their holidays by as much as 50% this year, with 48% of people more likely to shop online in order to save money.

Brits often spend more time booking their holiday than they do enjoying it, with the average holiday maker spending 8 days researching destinations and a further 5 hours picking accommodation.

. Introduction:

The summer holidays are upon us, yet many Brits are feeling frustrated about booking their holiday, with most people spending more time researching destinations than actually enjoying their break. New research reveals that three quarters of us feel cheated by holiday companies who charge more during the school break. Many schools will not give permission for pupils to go on holiday during term time which means parents are having to spend more for their family getaway during the summer months. This year, a quarter of us will be looking to cut our holiday budgets by half.

So, how can you keep everyone happy on a smaller budget?
