Research reveals that this age group, often termed the third-age, is changing with a quarter admitting to acting younger than people would expect, dressing to hide their age and maintaining interests in popular culture.

However, studies show that the over 50s are time poor as more children are staying longer in the parental home meaning that many parents are providing financial support for longer than they had hoped. In addition, the high cost of childcare has led to 14% of the 50+ population providing day-to-day care for their grandchildren.
