We’re a nation inspired; a week since Andy Murray’s big US Open win and a new study’s confirmed 1 in every 8 of us are now planning to start playing tennis.

In fact, half the nation thinks the Scotsman’s summer success will leave Britain with a generation of new young players – and 23% of us are confident it will lead to more home grown Grand Slam winners over the next 10 years.

But despite the new Murray legacy, and although a third of us say Britain’s now getting better at tennis – for every 4 people keen to start playing, 1 has no idea where their local tennis club is.

So with a milestone number of schools now running tennis programmes for children and more people getting involved at a grass-roots level, can we genuinely expect our renewed belief in British tennis to turn into Grand Slam glory?

In fact, half the nation thinks his glorious 2012 will leave Britain with a new generation of new young players – despite a quarter of people not knowing where their local tennis club is.
