Jealousy, dirty tricks and sabotage – how far would you go to make sure you’ve got the best blooms on the block? Ahead of the bank holiday weekend, we’re urging listeners to keep a watchful eye on their gardens as new research out today exposes the extent of ‘green envy’ on British streets.

In fact, we can reveal that almost half of all Brits are jealous of their neighbours’ garden – with nearly a quarter (23%) saying it makes theirs’ look small while one in five (20%) say theirs’ feels unkempt in comparison!

But it doesn’t stop there, as over four in ten (42%) admit to peering over the fence to get an eyeful of immaculate lawns, blooming hanging baskets and posh garden furniture, with more than a third saying they wished their garden looked as impressive.

But how far would you go to beat your neighbours? Well, shockingly almost one in ten (8%) admit they would resort to dirty tricks to come out on top and would actually consider sabotaging a neighbour’s gardens.
