With the event of the year just over four weeks away, the Royal Wedding is expected to cost £12 million with Kate Middleton’s dress alone speculated to cost anywhere between £40,000 and £200,000. However, latest figures have revealed for the majority of us the ‘average’ wedding now costs £22,858 with the dress coming in at just over £1,200.

With the most common problems a wedding can face being supplier failures, cancellations and damage to wedding attire as well as the £96 million worth of wedding rings getting lost each year, it is not surprising that over a quarter of Brits think that planning a wedding is more stressful than moving house, whilst over one in ten compare the stress of wedding planning to the stress of having a baby.

Despite the UK wedding industry being worth a lucrative £5.5 billion per year and all the problems that could occur in the lead up to the day and even on the day itself, latest figures show that 75% of weddings are uninsured.
