Tea and toast is no exception and this week a pioneering investigation to discover the ‘perfect partners’ has been launched, with a mission to discover the nations best tea and toast matches! With 81% of people claiming that toast is their favourite breakfast and 165 million cups of tea drunk every day in the UK - it is clear this is a match made in heaven.

The gastronomic experimentation has used extensive taste testing methodologies to determine what flavours complement each other the best. A variety of breads ranging from grainy, nutty earthy or sweet were teamed with tea flavours of varying strengths be it green, zesty, smoky or spicy. Whatever your preference, you can be sure the perfect taste combination has been established.

But why, when this simple pairing is clearly the nation’s favourite, are most of us prepared to toast the same bog standard loaf and brew the same cuppa every single day? With flavour experimentation encouraged at the moment and cooking very much in vogue, why aren’t we branching out more at breakfast? A brand new App is being launched to help people on there personal mission to finding there very own perfect match!
