It is a known fact that every little girl grows up with ambitions of becoming a princess. From playing dress up in a tiara and pink sparkly gown, to desperately longing to meet their prince charming, young girls in their bedrooms up and down the country are fantasising right now about living out this dream.

Young girls have been inspired by the likes of Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty as beloved Disney characters for many years. Just recently young girls had the genuine article to aspire to, having witnessed the storyline of such fairytales played out as reality, with the crowing of Kate Middleton as a real-life princess earlier this year.

This week Disney will be awarding Rapunzel her title as the official 10th Disney Princess. The magical event will take place at Kensington Palace, a venue perfectly fitting for all things fairytale and will host performances of songs from the new Disney Princesses album. British teenager and Disney star, Shannon Saunders will be singing her single ‘The Glow’ at the exclusive celebratory event and will also be performing ‘I See the Light’, a song from the recent blockbuster Disney movie ‘Tangled’, which she provided the theme for.
