Research has revealed that over 80% of homeowners would rather leave their home improvement jobs to a professional. More than three-quarters of people believe the job will get done faster, with 60% believing they will get a quality result.

Every year, one in six British homeowners pay a combined total of £1.5bn to fix work carried out by tradespeople without the correct qualifications or training.

With those missing out on university places set to total 300,000, more young people are seeking alternative further education opportunities – with trade apprenticeships being no exception. The number of apprentice tradespeople rose in the UK by 10% this year, with that figure set to rise again in September.
