New research reveals that on average almost half of Brits (48%) confess they press snooze on their morning alarm more than 5 times a week at this time of year, with 21% looking to their cup of coffee to get them out of bed every morning.

Feeling alert in the morning is crucial as more than a third (36%) admit to making mistakes if they don’t feel completely awake. Moreover 53% encounter a lack of concentration and 37% experience a lack of productivity, with 44% even admitting to feeling unfriendly if they are not alert.

More than one in four people regularly go to work tired and unrefreshed, with half of employees dragging themselves into work feeling overtired more than 20 times a year. One in five workers admits to calling in sick due to a lack of sleep and tired workers are costing UK businesses £1.6 billion a year in sick leave.

Many of us admit to making mistakes, lacking concentration and even calling in sick if we are too tired to function, which is costing businesses billions in sick leave and productivity.
