As the next bank holiday looms, the latest research suggests we’ll be rolling up our sleeves and getting to grips with a spot of DIY. It’s cheaper and as we spend on average two weeks of our lifetimes waiting for tradesmen to turn up, it could save us a considerable amount of time too. Most of us have a dream project for our homes but prefer to do it ourselves as DIY also fills us with pride and allows us to express our creativity. Only a third of men rejected DIY as too time consuming but with more than a quarter of women saying the skills are something they look for in a partner, they may want to reconsider, especially with the extra time most of us will have this coming weekend.
Why are bank holiday weekends so popular for DIY?
