English Ignorance Revealed as We Admit We Don’t Know Our Country

New research indicates that 78% of adults in England feel that making the most of their weekends puts them in a better mood for the rest of the week and 80% admit that taking a day trip makes them feel good.

59% of people in England feel they don’t know the country as well as they should and despite working Brits having a minimum of 20 days of annual leave, eight bank holidays, 104 weekend days and 336 evenings, 68% of English people don’t think they make best use of their free time.

Last year saw an 18% rise in overnight holiday trips in England taken with holiday makers spending £1bn more than in the previous year. 86% described the experience as excellent or very good with almost half of the population expecting to take more domestic breaks than in the past.
