Rural 'Not Spots' - Could You Cope Without Facebook?

This morning I'm sat in the very lovely SNK studios talking all about internet 'Not Spots' and rural regeneration.
Now, business hat aside, the thing that concerns me, is access to Facebook and Twitter!
I grew up in very rural area Lincolnshire, and by the time I left home at 18 to move to university, we still didn't even have dial up internet. Dial up - remember that? All those beeps and buzzes that took ten minutes to connect up? Well, ten years too late, that is the internet that is available to me when I visit my parents for the weekend.
To be honest though - I quite enjoy being un-contactable for the weekend. I find it quite freeing when the blackberry isn't beeping and flashing at me every ten minutes letting me know that so and so 'liked' my photo, or such and such 'commented' on my status. The thing that really bothers me is access to Twitter. Being quite a new 'tweeter' (shameless plug time - @brittanymkirk) I do enjoy letting my followers know about eating toast for my breakfast, the weird and wonderful things I see living in Camden, as well, of course, what studio session I'm in for the day.
Some of my friends however, could definitely not cope without Facebook for more than half an hour. Constant status updates, stalking people's photos on a night out, searching for people they saw on the tube.... you get the idea.
Not me though, I enjoy escaping from the city, turning off the Blackberry and floating away in a sunny garden...
