The BHF Reveals that UK Red Tape is Strangling Medical Research

191,000 lives are lost to heart and circulatory diseases every year and a damning report by the British Heart Foundation has revealed that UK red tape is strangling medical research that could save lives.
79% of us would be happy to share information in pursuit of medical advancement, but stringent legal guidelines are preventing the availability of medical and patient records, which is crucial in order to make new discoveries and advance treatment.
In an appeal to convince the Government to reevaluate the legality surrounding this issue, the BHF are raising awareness and are pushing for clear legal guidelines for researchers and calling on the NHS to open up its data.
